Karen is the owner of Team Gene® Skin. She thought of this business idea whilst trying to decide what facial to choose from a spa treatment menu.
She felt an individual approach would give her more confidence that she was taking action to look after her skin.
​
She is one of 45 alumni from St Mary's University with a MSc in Nutrition and Genetics and BSc in Nutritional Science.
​
Her studies have given her exceptional research skills that helps her identify the best genes for skin health that are then included in the test.
Karen's mission is that this test helps each salon to integrate genetics and tailored skin health using the treatments and products a salon already stocks.
​
Karen has completed more than >7,000 hours in clinical practice, spent more than 10 years in the Nutrition and Genetic industry.
For skincare advice and guidance Karen works closely with Lisa Knowles, a leading professional in Spa, Skincare and Wellness. Lisa has over 30yrs experience in the beauty industry working internationally at the premier end of the spa market as well as specialising as a Treatment Creator.
A role that has afforded her the pleasure of creating for many Award-winning Global skincare brands.
Georgia Rae is in charge of social media, she keeps up with the trends and manages the company's profile.

Georgia Rae had an interesting introduction to Team Gene ® Skin when she sat next to Karen on a train to Manchester. They got talking and she was very interested in how Team Gene ® Skin was going to change the skincare industry. Applied for a role and she has never looked back.
